This study investigates the water quality and accumulation of heavy metals in sediments and zooplankton of Sungai Perai. Water, sediment, and zooplankton samples were collected from eight sites along the river during the ebb neap and spring tides of January, February, April, and May 2024. For water quality, electrical conductivity (EC), total dissolved solids (TDS), salinity (Sal), dissolved oxygen (DO), temperature (Temp), and Secchi disk depth were measured in situ. Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS), orthophosphate (PO4), nitrite (NO2), ammonia (NH3), and chlorophyll a (Chl a) were analysed in the lab using standard methods.
