Abstract
The convergence of solar energy and IoT technology holds immense potential for sustainable agriculture. While the cattle management system like conventional
cattle collars and traditional farming practices contribute significantly to the economy, they suffer from labour-intensive processes, inefficient resource utilization, and reliance on human observation for cattle supervision. In contrast, this proposed research solar-powered IoT-based cattle management system using LoRaWAN, Low Power Wide Area Network, addresses these limitations, offering automated monitoring, reduce reliance on conventional power sources, enhanced long-ranged wireless communication system, improved efficiency, and timely disease detection. There will be three pair of Long-Range modules for this system where two of them are sensor node which assigned to collect the data and a gateway that receive data from them and store it in the cloud database storage. The data such as the Received Signal Strength Indicator, Signal to Noise ratio and parameter measured (temperature) will be tabulated real-time in mobile application as the monitoring device. Any abnormalities recorded will be notified through the monitoring device. The power consumption will be measured using multimeter and oscilloscope then calculated to show the usage during the whole process as to proving the capabilities and performance of LoRa technology as the long-range wireless network and the reliability of renewable energy source for sustainable monitoring system of cattle farming.
