Abstract
Dc converter is an electronic circuit which converts a source of direct current (DC) from one voltage level to another. They can step-up, step-down, and invert. In this project the main objective is to develop 100 W, 24 V Dc converter by using Boost topology. The simulation and analysis of the design is done by using PSIM 4.5 software and compare with the experimental result. The output voltage of the boost dc converter is determined by the duty cycle which is the ratio of the switch on-time to the entire switching cycle time. A duty cycle is generated by a pulse-width modulator (PWM). The PWM control circuit drives the MOSFET to ensure a constantly regulated output. Based on the experiment, the switching circuit can generate a PWM with duty cycle from 0.1 to 0.8 at fixed frequency of 10 kHz. The noise from output of the IC 555 Timer is eliminates by using Driver MOSFET TC4427.
