Inland wetland fisheries are a crucial source of animal protein, export earnings, and employment for Bangladesh’s rural population, with over two-thirds of people either consuming or selling fish caught in these fisheries. However, the sector’s contribution to the national economy has consistently declined over the decades, primarily due to overfishing, harmful fishing methods, habitat degradation, and the exclusion of fishers from fisheries management. Therefore, this study aims to analyze fishers’ resilience to co-management challenges by applying the Social-Ecological System Framework (SESF) in the Bogiani fishery located in the northeastern Sunamganj district of Bangladesh.
