Abstract
A diabetic smart device is a smart insole that is exclusively developed for diabetic patients in Malaysia. By building this smart insole, it will help the patients to control their daily activity by referring the information taken from their foot. In this project, it mainly includes the design, implementation and development work of diabetic smart device. This device focuses on detecting the foot pressure of diabetic patient and the temperature of the foot. It provides the real time information from the sensor that will check the pressure at some important area of foot plantar as well as the temperature of the foot. Moreover, this device aims to limit its users in doing their daily activity to prevent the negative impact to the foot. The purpose of this device was developed for ordinary people in Malaysia who are diabetic and desperately need smart insole devices without having to pay very high sums of money from foreign companies but with the same insole functionality. Besides that, users are able to use this device by downloading an application and then, connect it with their smartphone via Bluetooth. The application can be controlled by the user to take the reading from the insole and displayed it on the smartphone. By monitoring pressure and temperature, Smart Diabetic Insole system provides the wearer with real-time warning message and allows them to immediately take action to help keep their feet healthy.
