The development of a Smart Fertigation System aimed at optimizing fertilization practices in agriculture using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The project emphasizes the integration of monitoring and automated control systems to monitor soil nutrient levels. Literature reviews were conducted, highlighting previous research and projects in smart agriculture, focusing on the use of IoT devices and automated fertigation systems. This review provided a foundation for selecting appropriate hardware and software components and determining the optimal NPK level. The methodology involved using the Efinix Titanium Ti60 FPGA and ESP32 modules for real-time data collection and system control. The system monitored soil NPK levels, and an automated fertilizer pump adjusted nutrient delivery based on predefined thresholds. Results demonstrated the system's efficacy in maintaining optimal NPK ratio levels, particularly for chili plants, with significant improvements in nutrient management observed over a 24-hour testing period. Quantitative data showed a reliable response of the system in triggering twice nutrient delivery based on real-time soil conditions. The NPK level threshold limit was preset to 20:20:40 up until it reached the optimal value of 50:40:80. The pump triggering and stop response followed as threshold and optimal. In conclusion, the Smart Fertigation System proved effective in enhancing precision agriculture practices, suggesting potential for broader application in various agricultural settings. Future work focuses on the improvement of this project for further system optimization and scalability.
