Abstract
The projects present the development of solar based Car Air Condition System using Thermoelectric Cooler. The construction of the project is consists of two parallel connection of Solar Panel as a source, DC-DC Step Down Converter as a control circuit, Thermoelectric Cooler as Cooling Source and the blower to blow cooling air to the passenger inside the car. DC-DC Step down Converter designed to regulate the voltage and current from the Solar Panel to the TECs. Three series connection of TECs were attached to the Cooling Coil as a cold sink and three different heat sinks were used to release heat from the TECs. Blower with dimension of 30cm width, 13cm height and 33cm length were build to place the Cooling Coil with the axial fan 24V. The DC-DC Step down Converter was designed using Proteus 7 software. ORCAD software was used to design the converter. The developed systems are able to blow out cooling air from the blower with 6.6°C in temperature different with the ambient temperature. The DC-DC Step down Converter that has been designed capable to regulate voltage from 1.05V up to 8.16V and can provide a current up to 5A with two parallel connection of solar panel as a source.
