Abstract
Pest detection is useful method for monitoring against pest in small garden. The present of pest cause harmful to the human and environment. Traditionally, human experts have been depending on anomalies in plants caused by pest. However, this is time consuming and sometimes impractical. To combat these challenges, research on the usage of image processing technique for pest detection has become a hot topic. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to detect and obtain the location detected pest. Based on the virtual instrument LabVIEW platform, the images are taken by stereo vision USB cameras. NI-IMAQ-dx module and NI LabVIEW Vision Acquisition is used for programming. Through image acquisition, monochrome extraction plane, image enhancement, image segmentation and particle analysis and calculation, the pest can be detected. The location of detected pest measured using
depth map obtained through stereo vision. The results of the comparison between the actual distance dan the average measured distance shows the error of 0.7%. The pest detection performance shows recall and precision at 89% and 73%.
