Abstract
This project introduces a comprehensive smart voting system based on the affordability of the Raspberry Pi platform. Raspberry Pi is a microcontroller that
integrates with various sensors and communication modules to create an intelligent and user-friendly environment. Python language is used to control the Raspberry Pi to serve as the central control unit, providing seamless interaction of connected devices and providing a user interface for remote monitoring and control with the system. The objective of this project is to construct an electronic voting system by using Raspberry Pi. To be more convenient for the users, the smart voting system should have under 5 seconds response speed to show time saving during the process. Key components of the project include Raspberry Pi screen, webcam and push switches, all interconnected through the Raspberry Pi. The system utilizes open-source software and protocols to ensure convenience and time saving for the users. This project also focuses on resources saving to lower the cost of voting. A screen is required to provide the list of candidates for the users to vote for. The voters can make their vote by using their eyes contact. While the webcam is function as face recognition of the voters and eyes tracking devices. And the push button will be used to vote manually if the eyes tracker is not function for some voters. For this project, it helps to shorten the time of voting process. Therefore, the smart voting system should have under 5 seconds response time for face recognition and voting casing process each. By seamlessly integrating advanced technological solutions, this initiative seeks to provide voters and candidates with new eco-friendly, convenient and time saving
experiences, shaping the future of both formal and informal elections.
