Abstract
Urban stormwater management are important practice to manage and mitigate the flood in urban areas. Flood disaster can effect the environment, socio-economic public, damage property, life and etc. The disaster effect to the environment such as pollution, erosion, damage to building/structure, property loss, damage to drainage system damage and economy activity. Best management practices are introduced to reduce peak flow hydrograph before stormwater flow to river system or receiving water body. Besides that BMPs also can reduce flood disaster and erosion based on control at source. This dissertation starts with the introduction on BMPs, where the concept, principles and approach were described. The selection of BMPs are also given. Chapter three includes and described about existing system evaluation for Taman Damai I & II, Parit Buntar Perak. Chapter Four discuss on the proposed alternative system for study area. In this chapter further discussion on the design based on Urban Stormwater Management Manual For Malaysia ( MASMA, 2000). The conclusion for this study for Taman Damai I & II, Parit Buntar Perak included in the last chapter.
