Abstract
Aquilaria tree is used in the agriculture industries to harvest agarwood. Harvesting agarwood can be repetitive and mundane for human. Therefore, a climbing robot will be perfect
for this task. This tree is straight and branchless so, the robot is tall to add stability. This paper is concerned with the design of a Aquilaria tree climbing robot. All of the mechanical parts in this robot were connected using a 3D printed connectors. All the mechanisms used by the robot will be discussed in detail. The required specification of the climbing robot will be calculated and build. The speed, power consumption and the forces on the tree will be measured to know the robot’s workability in real world situation. The control of the robot will be done wirelessly by using a ps2 Bluetooth controller. The speed of the motor in PWM was displayed in the LCD displayer. The robot built was able to climb for 10meters at 6cm/s.
