Abstract
The integration of lean manufacturing principles with cloud-based systems presents a promising paradigm for the advancement of next-generation manufacturing systems. Cloud manufacturing has emerged as a highly effective approach employed by manufacturers worldwide to enhance productivity and gain a competitive edge. In line with this, a collaborative project between USM and Western Digital (WD) is conducted aims to develop a cloud-based dashboard that provides real-time visualization of the Automated Guided Vehicles' (AGV) movements within their production floor. To accomplish this goal, WD has provided the necessary data regarding the live locations of the AGVs. Various software tools, such as Tableau and Excel, are utilized to facilitate the implementation of this project. Moreover, a MySQL database is employed to manage the live data import and export processes, specifically pertaining to the AGV's live location. To further streamline the system, a Python program has been developed to automate its operation. By leveraging the capabilities of Tableau, Excel, MySQL, and Python, the cloud-based dashboard has been successfully built. It is able to create a live visualisation of AGV moving in a shopfloor using the historical data provided by WD. This will facilitate an effective AGV monitoring system, empowering companies with actionable insights to optimize their manufacturing operations.
