Chinese high school students face intense academic pressure that often leads to learning burnout and test anxiety, creating an urgent need for effective psychological interventions. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a Group Sandplay Therapy (GST) module in addressing these challenges among Grade 12 students in Anhui, China. Guided by the ADDIE instructional design framework and grounded in Psychological Projection Theory, Group Dynamics Theory, and Self-Efficacy Theory, the GST module was implemented through a quasi-experimental design involving 60 students with both learning burnout and test anxiety randomly assigned to experimental and control groups, along with follow-up semi-structured interviews with selected participants.
