Abstract
This project focuses mainly on designing a grid-based robotic system for smart farming application by implementing GUI. A simple movement control operation through the
application by the graphical user interface (GUI) will be able to perform. To control the operation of the smart farming system, GUI is developed using Microsoft Visual Studio.
Arduino also is used as the control unit for this smart farming system. Four stepper motors, two stepper motor drivers, and one camera are used to develop this robot
embedded system. Besides, stepper motors and stepper motor drivers are used in the system for the motion of the connection carriage. In this smart farming system, the
frame of MPCNC will be a grid-based robotic system for movement and positioning for the platform to precisely control motion. The function is based on the X and Y
coordinate system and is also driven by a mechanism that linearly travels on both the X- and Y-axis. The prototype is created on a small scale since this project is tested in
the lab. In order to develop a reliable program for the system, system programming is developed in several parts and its electronic circuit is carefully planned and constructed.
The GUI is able to connect and provide the user with system movement control. All 25 movements were tested and it shows the grid-based robotic system was in the right
position by following the coordinates that had been set up through the X and Y axis. Overall, the smart farming system is successfully designed and developed.
