This research aims to develop an augmented reality based teaching model for instructors in technical and vocational training (tvet) institutions. The teaching model was proposed in response to the problem of the lack of guidance for implementing an augmented reality learning environment in skills training. Existing teaching methods focus on theoretical learning in the classroom and practical training in laboratories, shortening exposure to new technologies used in industry. This study adopted the design and development research (ddr) approach introduced by richey and klein, which was conducted in three phases: the needs analysis phase, the design and development phase, and the evaluation phase. The results of phase 1 identified the need to improve current teaching methods to enhance the integration of technology into skill training in tvet programs. In phase 2, the interpretative structural modelling (ism) and nominal group technique (ngt) approaches were applied to develop the model using the expertise of seven panels. This approach involves expert consensus on the position of elements within each domain in terms of driving power and dependence power.
