Abstract
Tubifex sp., a protein-rich oligochaete, remains largely unexplored in healthpromoting applications, with limited focus on efficient and sustainable protein extraction strategies. In particular, the use of alkaline deep eutectic solvents (DES) for protein extraction from this organism has not been thoroughly explored. To address this gap, a novel alkaline DES composed of glycerol (HBD) and dipotassium hydrogen phosphate (HBA) was synthesized using a microwave-assisted method. The microwave-synthesised DES (MW-DES) formed a eutectic mixture within 3 minutes at a 5:1 molar ratio under 270 W microwave power. FTIR and molecular docking confirmed the presence of strong hydrogen bonding interactions.
