Abstract
The current state of BLDC motor controllers lacks the necessary flexibility and programmability to explore the field of BLDC motor. This project involves designing and analysis of a programmable BLDC motor controller which can be used to explore the field of BLDC motor for future research purposes. The Arduino Uno microcontroller was utilized for its ease of use and to provide researchers with the ability to program using Arduino IDE software. Then, analysis of the BLDC motor's performance using the designed BLDC motor controller was conducted. The controller is equipped with programmable features, allowing researchers to study to explore the field of BLDC motor parameters and control algorithm. This includes evaluating motor performance in terms of speed, current and thrust of the BLDC motor. Through testing and data analysis, insights into the motor's performance under different control settings were obtained. Thus, this enables to gain a deeper understanding of BLDC motor dynamics and performance. The experimental result of the motor performance shows that the minimum speed at 2013.2 rpm and 0.44 A of current consumed and 0 gf generated. The maximum speed of the BLDC motor is about 4487.5 rpm able to generate thrust about 160 gf and 8.25 A of current consumed. The results obtained from this research provide valuable data for further future research utilizing BLDC motors and their control system.
