Abstract
Malaysia is the country that is developing rapidly and effort of development and modernization needs energy. Because of this to cover that request increasingly, resource energy search is differently implemented. One of the resources of energy that can be realized in our country that is the wave energy. Energy that is generated can be used to generate the electricity for islands or area of beach side. The design of wave-activated device must fulfil to Malaysia geography condition. With wave height within 1.5 meter to 2.0 meter, the oscillating water column (OWC) device cannot be built and we must seek other, alternative to generate the electric energy. Monsoon’s condition is also taken into account for design purpose. Besides that the device that is built should safe to be used either endangers local fishermen’s safety in their livelihood search or disturbing tourism activity in our country. Failure point for the system is determined for this purpose. The cost of constructions must be taken into account so that it will not extremely expensive and detain older. This is taken into account to material election, must be suitable with seawater condition. The system capability in electricity generation from wave energy is counted so that the device that is built is suitable with sea condition in Malaysia. Design of the device must take count by its efficiency and its capability in generating electricity within sea condition and monsoon’s wind in our country. In other words the design of the device to be built is studied whether can give positive profit or not to the development that occurs in our country, Malaysia rapidly.
