Abstract
The samples of this study were taken from Buffalo Reef Central (BRC) in Kuala Lipis Pahang. There is 5 total of sampling points where 4 sample from Northwest (NW) labelled with S1, S2, S3, and S4 and 1 sample from Southwest (SW) labelled with S5. Buffalo Reef is located within Malaysia’s Central Gold Belt, renowned for its rich mineral deposit, including major gold sites like Raub and Penjom. The region is situated between the Raub-Bentong Suture to the west and the Lebiar Lineament to the east. Various analytical techniques were employed to study the mineralogy areas. XRD analysis identified the phase composition and crystal structures of samples, revealing high concentration of minerals such as pyrite, arsenopyrite, and stibnite. Optical microscope analysis confirming the presence of these minerals by checking theory textures and structures. SEM-EDX provided both chemical and physical information about the minerals, highlighting areas with high concentrations of stibnite, pyrite, and other elements. Micro-XRF mapping further detailed elemental composition and distribution. Various analytical techniques also were employed to study the geochemistry areas. ICP-MS detected 11 elements, providing comprehensive geochemical data, while XRF measured oxide contents, showing silicon oxide (SiO) as the most abundant element in all samples. In conclusion, no visible gold is observed and possibly gold is residing in sulphide mineral.
