Abstract
The rapid advancement of perovskite-based materials in photovoltaics has garnered substantial interest due to their exceptional optoelectronic properties and potential for cost-effective solar energy conversion. However, concerns over the toxicity, environmental impact, and regulatory restrictions of lead (pb) in conventional halide perovskites have prompted the exploration of alternative structures. Vacancy-ordered double halide perovskites (vodhps) have emerged as promising candidates in photovoltaics, aiming to overcome the limitations associated with lead-based materials. These materials offer the added advantages of tunable bandgaps and exceptional optoelectronic properties, such as high optical absorption, high mobility, long diffusion lengths, and superior charge-transport properties, making them versatile candidates for various applications. This thesis focuses on the synthesis and characterization of titanium-based vodhps, cs2tii6. The adoption of a solution-based synthesis method offers a novel route for fabricating these materials. Various parameters, such as variations in the precursor’s concentration, solvents, synthesis temperature, and the effect of doping sni4 in cs2tii6 vodhps, are considered to achieve the optimal cs2tii6 vodhp solution.
