Abstract
The main objective of education in Islam is to produce noble and excellence individual in this world and the hereafter. In connection with this, there are a few questions arise especially in related to the effectiveness of the Islamic Education subject thought in the school today. The learning process had been going on for a long time but the reality shows that disciplines of the students are declining. A study should be carried out to identify the effectiveness of the Islamic Education subject in order to increase the disciplines of the students and to produce so called noble human being. In conducting this study, researcher had collected data using library research and field work methods. In the field work, researcher should used the questionnaire, observation and interview methods. The data then analyzed descriptively using SPSS Program (Statistic Packages for the Social Sciences). Generally, the result of this study shows that the declining of disciplines among students in Perlis especially in the secondary schools is not because of the weakness in conducting the curriculum of the Islamic Education subject. In fact, the subject managed to give positive effect physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. On the contain study also shows that the declining of disciplines among students today is as the result of foreign influences and uncontrolled surrounding due to the failure of family institution, school’s administration and the authorities to play their roles.
