| dc.description.abstract | Problems arising from the accessibility of disabled people is no longer a new issue. Eventhough, this matter has always been taken lightly by the society. All this while, the provision of these facilites for the less fortunates lies solely in the hands of the developers. This causes the less fortunate to feel left out or rather unwanted. However, the introduction of Undang-undang Kecil Bangunan Seragam 1984, SIRIM Code and guidelines changed the provision pattern of the facilities for less fortunate. The purpose of this research is to analyses the accesibility facility provided for the disabled people in six shopping complex in Pulau Pinang. This study has been conducted by making observations at shopping complexes and by handing out questionnaires. Datas collected were analysed using the descriptive statistics method. Distinctive differences were found in the preparation of the accessibil;ty facility of all five shopping complexes. For the sake of a balanced and spiritual social planning, the government must prepare more facilities in all buildings so that the less fortunate can enjoy an equally comfortable social life | en_US |
