Composite sago starch-based film was developed and characterized with the aim and find an alternative to gelatin in the processing of pharmaceutical capsules. The effects of carrageenans, plasticizers and nanopracticles on heat sealability and thermo-mechanical properties of the film were investigated. Sago starch was also chemically modified by acid and or hydroxypropylation in oder to increase its solubality. The rheological propeties, sol-gel transition, film formability and heat sealability of the modified starch was also studied.en_US
