Cast resin dry type (CRDT) transformer is widely used nowadays as it is easy maintenance compared to the oil immersed transformer and SF6 transformer. In this project, the sectional core and winding of CRDT transformer was build using AutoCad. This model is used to study the electric field distribution at the HV winding. The electric field analysis is performed using Finite Element Method software whereas in this study by using Comsol Multiphysics. The study focused change of the electric field distribution when misalignment happened at the HV winding. This misalignment was caused by the mishandling of the transformer and the lifetime of the transformer. The effect of the misalignment leads to the formation of the air gap at the conductor. The air gap had a maximum value of the electric field which approximately 7.16 x105 V/m. The simulation for ideal and misalignment was a success and the electric field distribution was recorded. The electric field distribution was plotted in a graph and the graph for ideal and misalignment was discussed. It is shown that the effect of misalignment influenced electric field behaviour.en_US
