Abstract
The objective of this research is to investigate the relationship between service supply chain management practices and public healthcare’s organizational performance that recognizes the mediating effect of supply chain efficiency and information technology integration in Malaysia which has limited studies. This research seeks to extend the previous research done on service supply chain management practices and organizational performance. Supply chain theories such as resource-based view and competence-based view are found to support the framework. The research is empirically tested using Partial Least-Squares (PLS)-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique. The population of this research comprises of all Malaysian public hospitals and the unit of analysis is organization. Primary data is collected using survey questionnaire. The findings indicate a mixed result which surfaced a few critical service supply chain management practices (information and technology management, capacity and resource management, and customer relationship management) towards the organizational performance for public hospitals in Malaysia. This research also developed an insight into the importance of mediating role of supply chain efficiency and information technology integration. It surfaced the opportunity to further research on the indirect relationship of information technology integration between service supply chain management practices and supply chain efficiency, and also the indirect relationship of supply chain efficiency between information technology integration and organizational performance.
