Preferences, perceptions, and knowledge toward oral solid dosage forms (OSDF) in the modem pharmaceuticals seem to be the field in which the data is scarce. This study aimed (1) to determ'ine preferences, perceptions, and knowledge toward OSDF and their color, size, shape, and taste among consumers in Iraq, and (2) to identify those factors that may be associated with their preferences, perceptions, and knowledge toward this type of pharmaceutical preparations. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among consumers while purchasing their medicines at the community pharmacies in Baghdad. A convenience sampling method was used to recruit the consumers. Data was gathered by using selfadministered questionnaires. The questionnaire comprised a list of preferences, perceptions, and knowledge items which were adopted form previous published literatures. The total sample size was 1000 participants. Chi-square, MannWhitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests ":'ere used to evaluate the associations between the variables. Binary Logistic regression was used to find predictors for the most preferred OSDF. A significant level was detected at P<0.05. Findings of this study revealed that capsule is the preferred form among consumers as well as the easiest fonn in swallowing.en_US
