| dc.description.abstract | Rectifier system is a very important topic in the power electronics course. Rectifiers are used widely and a comprehensive understanding of this topic is of great importance to the students of electrical and electronics course. The conventional way of learning and teaching consumes a great deal of time and can be boring at times. This project aims to produce an interactive multimedia courseware as an additional tool to aid the learning of the rectifier system and not as an alternative to the conventional way of teaching and learning. The courseware was developed using Macromedia Authorware 6.0 as the authoring language. In the courseware developed almost all the important topics in the rectifier system is discussed. In addition to the course text, it also contains sections on tutorials, quiz and a project sample. Graphics and animations are used abundantly to give a more attractive and effective presantation. Each of topics and sections are independent from one another. This gives the user the freedom to choose the sections and topics of his interest without wasting time going through preceding topics or sections. The courseware developed is also capable of producing graph simulation results as shown by theory. | en_US |
