This study focuses on the bioengineering materials that were used to protect the channel from erosion. Hydraulic characteristics of flow through these materials were determined in term of flow velocities and shear stresses. However determining velocity of the water requires the use of Manning‟s equation and Manning‟s coefficient of roughness. Therefore in order to produce „n‟ values for bioengineering materials and their use in Manning‟s equation there was experiment conducting on different type of bioengineering material that includes Turf Reinforcement Mat (TRM) and Erosion Control Blanket (ECB). The result of „n‟ values of bioengineering material were analyzed and from the result the TRM performed the best for having the higher resistance towards the flow of water which means it can help to control the erosion of the channel.en_US
