In this work, carbon molecular sieve (CMS) membranes were successfully synthesis from polyetherimide. Porous carbon disks (diameter 20mm, thickness 2.5mm) as support were prepared first by agglomeration of fine powdered carbon black with phenolic resin. The polyetherimide solution was coated onto the support and then pyrolyzed at various temperatures and times to form molecular sieve layer.en_US
