| dc.description.abstract | This study will examine the effects of housing development on the quality of life of urban residents. The chosen location of the study is includes four selected residential areas: Taman Siang, Taman Sri Jaya, Quarters of Jabatan Ke1ja Raya (JKR) staffs and Kampung Hilir which situated in Bandar Sri Aman, Sarawak. Housing development in urban area is closely related to its economics activities. Besides, the easier access to the housing also successfully attracted people to live in urban area. For instance, housing units with complete facilities and infrastructures are providing for the residents to give a better quality of life to them. While housing development that ignore living aspects such as environment, neighbourhood etc may reduce the quality of residents' life. In this study, the list of quality ~~ life 's measurement is summarized based on the literature review and it is also used in analyzing the data from the questionnaires. The list is determines through the formula of satisfaction index so that the level of quality of life of the residents will be known. It also helps the writer to determine the issues that exist in housing development. Suggestions are propose to reduce the issues. | en_US |
