Abstract
The main aim of this study stands on formulating ibuprofen as a novel nano-scaled emulsion encompassing newly synthesized palm oil esters as the oil phase. This study involved the construction of several pseudo-ternary phase diagrams of water, palm oil esters and non-ionic surfactant mixture of several Hydrophilic-Lipophilic Balance (HLB) values. Several promising formulae were chosen, where ibuprofen solubility was measured. Additionally, the effect of ibuprofen on various properties of the selected formulations were also evaluated. Rheological properties, zeta potential, droplets size and structural characteristics of the promising formulae were also studied.
