| dc.description.abstract | The title of my thesis is the repeal Of The Rent Control A.ct 1966 and its implications. This study is to look into the implication on the users of the controlled premises with the repeal of the Rent Control Act 1966. Two study area with similiar characteristics has been chosen namely Little India, Penang and around Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kuala Lumpur. The repeal of the act will result in the tenants who cannot afford the current market rent to vacate their premises. Mean while if the act is not Irepealed It will result in the underdevelopment of the city centre. The findings of this study suggest that there will be a number of implications I. increase In the rents 2. economic activities have to be displaced 3. tenant shifting away from city centres and 4. urban redevelopment | en_US |
