Abstract
Active and passive fire safety systems are two components that belong in the
fire protection system. However, the importance of designing an effective and good
passive system is rarely emphasized due to its. The different degrees of emphasis on
different fire protection system exist because of the categorization of risks. Sources of
fire and method of its spread also play an important role in the selection of a fire

buildings include a few important aspects that aim to create a high and effective level
of safety. All design that is used in airport buildings must be based on specific
standards such as JPBPM and UBBL and other such provisions.
Research is carried out on the building of LTAB Bayan Lepas Penang to ยท
indentify the design aspects of the passive system that has been employed. The use of
the passive system design in the aforementioned building clearly complies the needs of
the standard and is operating well. The existence of a new world-class airport with an
excellent safety system, namely KLIA, has also demanded that a comparison of design
to be performed. Although the passive system found in the L TAB Bayan Lepas Penang
building complies all legal and is presently in a good condition, several changes and
renovation are proposed to increase the safety level of the premise.
