The Internet has brought different lifestyle to our society and has been known to make changes to the way people live and communicate. It enables people to acquire information and to solve their daily problems. If we can understand why . users are attracted to the Internet, how do·they perceive the use of the Internet and what sort of things they are doing on the Internet, that will help us to further our research in different areas, from advertising to education to psychology. At the same time, many parties have been aware of the negative impacts of the Internet use, especially, the excessive use of the Internet. Young people are vulnerable to developing dependence on the Internet than any other segments of society. This may happen because college students have strong needs to develop firm sense of identity and to develop meaningful and intimate relationships. The Internet is a convenient and accessible platform for them to communicate and interact with the world. Thus, how they use and perceive the Internet may have a big impact on how they use the Internet in the future. This case study would like to analyze the perception of SEGi College students in Penang toward Internet use.en_US
