dc.description.abstract | The project manager plays a vital and crucial role in any construction related project. In order to meet the objectives of modem projects, with an increasingly complex nature, it is essential for the project managers to be able to use variety of managerial skills This research aims to study the role of project manager in carrying out better project performance. The objectives of this research study are to identify and ascertain factors affect a project manager's performance in the private and public sector in construction industry in Sudan and identify the necessary competency skills that a project manager should have to influence the success rate of a project. A detailed survey of 30 construction companies in Sudan was conducted, to determine what factors are affecting project manager's performance .. A total of 20 completed questionnaires were received from 15 companies. The correlation analysis was used to test whether the factors were significant in influencing project manager's performance. Findings showed that human skills of project managers have the greatest influence on project management practices. The result revealed that working hours, physical condition of project site, complexity of project, material and supplies, project size, duration of project and time availability were viewed differently in terms of importance. | en_US |
