Abstract
Palm oil is a major crop of agricultural commodities in Malaysia. Palm oil is the most important vegetable oil in the palm oil industry that contributes 75percent of the country's agricultural exports. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the production of fresh fruit bunches (FFB), crude palm oil (CPO) production and oil extraction rate (OER) in Malaysia. There are three issues in this study namely the first is FFB production more than CPO production. Secondly, CPO production is lower than that of FFB production in Malaysia. Third, the rate of OER in Peninsular Malaysia is lower than Sabah and Sarawak. Hence, there is a growing gap between FFB production and CPO production and the pattern of CPO production growth is slowing so the oil extraction rate (OER) issue is important to be analyzed in this study. In this study, the researcher used two methods, namely quantitative method to analyze the objectives of the study and the objectives of the second study using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method, while the third objective of the study, the design study for qualitative data was descriptive to interview 71 CPO factorys in Peninsular Malaysia. The first and second objectives of the study are to identifythe factors that influence the production of FFB and the production of CPO. There are five factors which influencedthe production of FFB namely the use of labour in oil palm estate, area of maturity, area of origin, area of land, production of FFB per hectare and El-nino.
