dc.description.abstractThe research is concerning fire safety system for the assembly building, which comprises types of fire risk, passive and active fire protection system and others fire prote~tion system. Besides traditional fire protection system, new fire protection system are also discussed such as "clean agent" use in fire extinction for example INERGEN, FM 200, Hi- r I f Fog Water Mist fire protection, Argon, Hartindo AFllE etc. Not left behind also the requirement from By-Laws, standards and guidelines from Malaysia Fire and Rescue ' Department will be touched. A case study has been carry out at the Building of Langkawi Cable Car, which is categorized as assembly building, to survey the level of fire safety system that has been applied in the real budding. From the research, it has been discovered that this building is still required for further improvement in the context of passive and active fire protection system including assemble additional fire protection system such as fire detector equipment at cable car station, "Exit" sign along the means of escape route, emergency lighting, provide sufficient portable fire extinguisher at all the cable car station and on the management side, they should always inspect and maintain fire fighting equipment frequently by preparing a schedule of inspection and maintenance for the fire fighting equipment.en_US
