dc.description.abstractChapter One provides the reader with the background information to the study pertaining to the status functions and problems of English usage in Malaysia. Chapter Two is the chapter on the review of related literature. Chapter Three covers the methodology of this study and includes topics such as the sample, measurement instruments i.e. the questionnaire, the S.R.P English Exam results as a measure of achievement and interviews. Chapter Four presents the data from the field research, analyses it and discusses the results in relation to the hypotheses that were formulated. Chapter Five , the concluding chapter gives of a summary the findings of this research as well as recommendations for teaching before concluding.en_US
