| dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, arbitration seems to be one of the best alternative ways to settle any dispute within two different parties besides refer the dispute to the court process. The main objective of the research is to find how many parties in the construction industry alert about the usage of arbitration in the construction industry. The aim of the research is also to ensure that arbitration relevant to be practice in local construction industry when the dispute still in not critical stage. Based on the interview that has been done through this thesis and based on the secondary data, Iigitation still the most popular medium that have been practice in case to settle any dispute that occur in the construction industry involving critical dispute between the two parties. The research methodology is based on the previous journal, books and thesis that have been published besides the primary data that have been collect through the interview. The respondent of the interview are the people who involved indirect or directly to the construction industry. For example, the respondents position are architect, engineer, quantity surveyor and project manager. All of the respondents that have been interview was representing the parties who works as a team in construction project such as the developer or client, contractors, consultant and government bodies for example local authority. From the interview, majority of the respondents said that arbitration is a well known dispute resolution but the applicable of the resolution is still at the very low level. In the end of the thesis, all of the respondents agree that arbitration should be promote as one of the best dispute resolution besides ligitation because of its own advantages to minimize the depending on ligitation in fact to settle any disputes especially in the construction industry. | en_US |
