dc.description.abstractThis study examined the relationships between quality of work life, organizational commitment, and turnover intention. A cross-sectional survey data was collected from 254 employees who working in manufacturing firm in Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone, Penang, Malaysia. The sampling selected was based on convenience sampling technique and snowball sampling technique. Multiple regression analysis were employed to test the hypotheses. This study indicate that adequate and fair compensation, opportunity for continued growth, security, and social relevance of work life, social integration and work and total life space in the work organization were negatively related to turnover intention. Opportunity for continued growth, security and social relevance of work life and social integration in the work organization were found positively related affective commitment. Opportunity for continued growth, security and social relevance of work life was the only dimension of quality of work life which positively related continuance commitment. Adequate and fair compensation, opportunity for continued growth, security and social relevance of work life and social integration in the work organization were positively related normative commitment. Affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment were found negatively related to turnover intention. In this study, affective commitment and normative commitment were found partially mediate the relationship between quality of work life and turnover intention. Limitations of this study are addressed and recommendations for future research are suggested.en_US
