dc.description.abstractThis study aims to identify the influence of principals’ instructional leadership towards the teachers’ sense of academic optimism, perceived organizational support, and organizational mindfulness. Besides that, this study aims to identify whether there is a moderating influence of perceived organizational support on the relationship between principals’ instructional leadership, and the organizational mindfulness with teachers’ sense of academic optimism. In addition, the study aims to identify the views of teachers on principals’ instructional leadership, organizational mindfulness, and perceived organizational support in influencing teachers sense of academic optimism. This study used a combination of methods (QUAN-Qual) to obtain data were randomly selected. For quantitative methods, its involved 775 respondents of teachers from 155 national secondary schools from Penang and Kedah. Data from respondents were obtained through a set of questionnaires which consists of five sections. The Original Hallinger’s Principal Instructional Leadership Questionnaire thus PIMRS (Principal Instructional Management Rating Scale) was translated by Institut Aminuddin Baki (IAB), used for this study. Meanwhile, the organizational mindfulness is also measured using the M-Scale (School Mindfulness Scale) by Hoy and Gage (2003).en_US
