Power system reliability assessment is crucial in efficiency and safety in power system from generation to the consumers. Analytical method and simulation method are the common method in evaluation of power system reliability. Monte Carlo simulation method has been proposed and studies found that the method has adaptation to different situation and circumstances. The main problem in power system reliability is when faulty or outage are occurring in a big power system, it is become difficult to calculate the power loss due to faulty. A long analytical calculation is needed to fix this problem thus a lot of time will be consumed. Therefore, Monte Carlo simulation method is introduced that helps a lot in power system reliability assessment. Monte Carlo simulation method can be simulated by MATLAB. Sequential Monte Carlo is more reliable than Non- Sequential Monte Carlo because the sequential simulation can give results in sequence order that provide analysis with frequency approach. Big difference between Sequential and Non- Sequential Monte Carlo Simulation is on the way of the system component being simulated. Sequential Monte Carlo simulation produces in scope expected result while Non- Sequential Monte Carlo Simulation was unsuccessful to obtain expected result. Monte Carlo Method is useful in power system reliability assessment as results produced can be analysed in more detail and better visualisation.en_US
