This project presents the development of a flex force smart glove. Flex force smart glove is a smart data glove which is developed for the purpose of measuring the finger flexion of human hand, orientation of human hand in space and display them in a smartphone application using Internet of Things (IoT). This flex force smart glove is developed in a cost friendly method to obtain and display numerical values of finger flexion and fingertip force exertion thus utilising Internet of Things (IoT) application to display the results. Arduino Mega is used as the main unit for this smart glove to obtain the readings from flex sensors, flexiforce sensor & an IMU sensor and process the raw data using a computer. The processed data is sent to computer interface and the Blynk application on a smartphone. This smart glove comprises of five flex sensors, a flexiforce sensor and an IMU sensor. The microcontroller uses C/C++ programming language. Blynk application will be used in this project to deliver the data wirelessly. Results obtained have proved the reliability and accuracy of this flex force smart glove. The practical test results of this system have proven the reduced fluctuations and accuracy of this system. The real-time internet communication is achieved by utilising Internet of Things (IoT). This project has successfully developed a low-cost flex force smart glove system which obtains the data of finger flexion, force at fingertip & in space orientation, thus displaying the processed data in a smartphone application via the internet using Arduino microcontroller.en_US
