This qualitative study has involved 25 informants, and the data collected through in-depth interviews, observation and focus group discussions. Study findings have indicated that almost all informants do have good knowledge and perception about dengue fever. However, the practice of mosquitos control were still relatively low as there were mosquitos found at the surveyed locations. Among the problems that contributes to the increase of mosquitos were due to over crowded population, lack of community involvement in mosquitos control effort, as well as the high mobility of the community. All of these problem did contribute to the increase of dengue fever. The strategies used by the community include preventing self from mosquito bites, eliminate mosquito larves, and provide early treatment for those experiencing dengue fever. Even with these strategies, it is unable to help reduce the rate of dengue in the community.
