Abstract
This thesis is the study of the style of Latiff Mohidin's poems. The
objective of this study is to identify the style of language and the style of form of
his poems. How ever, the main focus of this study is to study the language style of
his poems.
The study shows that Latiff's poems are rich with beautiful language
styles. The various language styles in his poems make his poems alive, fresh and
attractive to read. The using of beautiful similies, methaphores, hiperboles and
}
personifications in his poems make the massages of his poems powerful and
effactive.
Besides, the using of nature images which are suitable with the poet and
spontaneous writing make the images beautiful and colourful. The freshness of
images given by the poet makes his poems fresh and strong.
The using of retoric style shows the poet vĀ¢ous techniques of writing and
his skill of playing with langusge. His poems are also free from the build of stanza,
line and spacing which are based on his artistic creativity.
All the elen:tents mentioned above constitute the internal mixing to build
strong and perfect meanings and also show the origanal identity of the poet. So
that, Latiff' s poems are beautiful and always fresh in the bouquet of Malaysian
poems.
