Abstract
Lightweight concrete is the importan~ material for construction. The,. continuous research to this material ~as impot~. The objective is to search th:·~ow density with ) high strength concrete. In practice, that is more difficult to consider the experimental data because the concrete with the similar material and mixing techniques giving a different sets of results. However, the statistical analysis method used to reduce - erroneous data. The sample of concrete with polystyrene beads, aluminum powder and wood wool has been tested for research purposes. The polystyrene concrete shows the similar properties with the most common lightweight concrete. An example, the concrete perpetuate the strength until their long life when curing in water. Polystyrene concrete categorized as a potential lightweight concrete because the high strength properties and the lower density (lower than 2200 kg/m3 ). The lower drying shrinkage value shows the stronger structure of the concrete. Additional aluminum powder to polyst)Tene concrete didn't cause changes nature of the concrete. As an example, polystyrene and aluminum powder concrete haven't lost their strength in long life when curing in water. The aerated structures allow for water absorption expedite chemical reactions between water and concrete. The concrete attain maximum strength in the short period. However, water cured for long life damaged some of the aerated structure of the concrete but it does not cause any loosing strength tor the concrete Polystyrene and aluminum powder concrete is the low strength and low density concrete. In addition to, the higher drying shrinkage value caused the cracked of concrete. The wood wool concrete shows the similar nature with polystyrene and aluminum powder concrete. The concrete categorized as medium strength and medium density lightweight concrete. Similar with polystyrene and aluminum powder concrete, wood wool concrete still maintain their strength when curing in water for a long time. Besides, medium high drying shrinkage value shows cracked ofthe concrete structure. Since experiment results shows the desirable quality of the polystyrene ·concrete, continuous research ·to the concrete are neces~ary. For aluminum powder, a small quantity of is recommended add into cement sand concrete. The sample of concrete will be tested with the similar procedures to feel certain nature ofthe concrete. Besides, the water absorption of wood wool may effectuate the aggregate to improperly functioning, however, the problem resolved when calcium chloride added into aggregates to adsorb the moisture . .i//_..,.·· TJr{ light weight concretes are important to the construction industries, hence, the / research should continue in order to revenue the lighter, the stronger and cheaper concrete.
