Abstract
This project is about the production of smart single roller throwing ball machine. It's an automatic throwing machine that has a wheel that can be controlled wirelessly. Nowadays, the throwing ball machine in Malaysia or abroad mostly was handled manually where the machine operator must be close to the machine. The main objective here is to create a one-wheeled machine that can be controlled by Wi-Fi and use the Internet as a medium transfer. For that we use the micro-controller Arduino Mega / Arduino Uno and ESP Wi-Fi shield. Arduino will send a signal to the relay circuit that serves as a switch to turn off and turn on the machine. In addition, the Arduino will also send a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal to the motor driver (DC motor driver) to control the speed of the motor. DC motor is used in this machine. While ESP Wi-Fi shield will stick with Arduino Mega / Arduino Uno to allow the controlling of machine through Wi-Fi. Things need to be taken here is the connectivity between Wi-Fi and Arduino so that arduino can control the machine and also the rotation speed of roller to throw the ball to get a good result. Several tests to get the value of RPM of roller versus the speed of the ball thrown have been done. The data was recorded. The efficiency of the ball throwing performance is 84% for low speed, 87% for medium speed, and 88% for high speed.
