| dc.description.abstract | Ibn Taymiyyah and Muḥammad bin ‘Abd al-Wahhāb were two Islamic scholars who became controversial because their thought and approach to da’wah had sparked polemics among the public. Their emergence raises different reactions between supporters and critics. Some of the issues associated with them was causing tensions to among Muslims. This research aims to analyse the viewpoint of comparison for the similarities and differences between the two thinkers, especially from the point of the methodology of aqeeda and the debate on tauhid involving the issue of mujassimah and takfīrī. Its true indictment of the main references to Muḥammad bin ‘Abd al-Wahhāb is Ibn Taymiyyah and influenced by his style of thinking? Similarly, on the issue of mujassimah and takfīrī, is it true these claims are associated with both of them and what the truth? What about the approach used in the texts of their articles, may be distorted or misinterpreted thus causing confusion among the public? This research uses Content Analysis and Comparative Analysis. This study can also be classified as basic research is the exploration that aims to clarify and improve its in-depth knowledge of the problem being studied. The results of this study found that there was a significant difference between Ibn Taymiyyah and Muḥammad’s ideology with the jumhur of Salaf and Khalaf in the issue of mujassimah. However different their stance caused confusion among the public who did not examine thoroughly the interpretation they do. Because of this attitude has been the cause of the accusation against them Mujassimah. | en_US |
