Abstract
Background of the case study is prepared and problem statement been conveyed and emphasized. The main objective of this case study is to examine Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) adoption and implementation in a construction company towards company performance in Malaysia. The company that had been chosen for my management project which is in the construction industry. Their core business would be as property developer with the effort to build quality properties from building to townships.
In property development industry, it can be classified as one of the most risky industry compare with others in term of the nature of business as well as others aspects. It is one of the main contributor to our Malaysia GDP as well. Case study method would be more specific as it target certain group of people within an organization to have depth understanding on the specific company to tackle on their issues. Brief milestones of the company, the mission and vision of the company, the structure of the company, the business flows, financial status, internal control and risk management will be emphasis before the issue being bring up and discuss.
The process flow of the entire group had been analyzed with several tools to justified by using ERM it can assist to dig out the specific problems in respective area that need to be taken care of.
Risk context and risk assessment being analyzed, then all those risks being categories. Linkages of those documents that being reviewed are studied to have better understanding on the overall. Discussion on the case issues and case analysis being reviewed. Recommendations in terms of short terms and also long terms based
on the case analysis will be provided followed by a conclusion and it bring to the end for this case study.
