dc.description.abstractThe monitoring program monitored the indoor particulate matter concentrations of the PM0.5, PM1.0, PM2.5, PM5.0, PM10.0, and TPM. Two hospitals were selected in this study. Particulate matter concentrations were collected at Hospital Parit Buntar and Hospital Sungai Bakap. The concentration of all the particulate matter was monitored at the outpatient department of the hospital. Other existing possible sources around the monitoring location were considered to determine whether it will affect the concentration of particulate matters. The monitoring program was launched on January 22, 2019, until January 25, 2019. The monitoring data at the outpatient department was taken with a minute interval. Lighthouse Handheld 3016 – IAQ, formaldemeter and Air Flow were positioned at the outpatient department. The data recorded using the specification monitor were analyzed using SPSS software to determine the concentrations and variations of indoor particulate matters at selected hospitals. The meteorological parameters were analyzed using Pearson Correlation to investigate the relationships between weather parameters and particulate matter concentration. Based on the apportionment analysis, the contribution of meteorological sources such as the temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed are not really strong based on the result analyzed using Pearson Correlation. From the analysis, model particulate matter with weather parameters was created using Multiple Linear Regression (MLR). Based on the model, R2 value ranging from 0.3133 - 0.8874 for Hospital A and 0.7604 – 0.9243 for Hospital B. This shows the model fits the concentration in Hospital B better than in Hospital A. The type of ventilation system for both hospitals and also the outdoor sources can affect the concentration of particulate matter.en_US
